determined until the last match played on the last day of the season."

Eleven teams, each consisting of six players, competed every Sunday afternoon since January 11th at the Racquet Center in Studio City. Teams consist of players ranging from those who are teaching pros to those who have just begun to enjoy the sport's appeal. Members compete against others of similar calibre, and team standings are determined after each week's matches.

Trophies were presented to members of the first, second and third place teams at an "End-of-the-League" party and picnic held on Sunday, April 12th, at Hollywood Park. Also presented were the "camp" awards, including the lucky winners of the Alexis Colby Carrington Award, the Ms. LATA Award and the Best Legs Award.

Based on the success of the spring league,

LATA President Locke expects an even bigger turnout for the summer league which begins June 14th. Matches will be played on Sundays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Racquet Center in Studio City.

In addition to team tennis activity, LATA hosts local and national gay tournaments, challenge ladder activity, free tennis clinics, tennis vacations, and many social activities. LATA members, ranging in age from 19 to 55, enjoy the "sport of a lifetime" and the opportunity to sharpen their tennis game while meeting other gay people who share their enjoyment of the sport.

Persons interested in learning more about the LATA may call Tony or Frank at (213) 862-7374, or may write the LATA at P.O. Box 481226, L.A., CA. 90048.

'Call Me Madam'

The California Music Theatre will present Irving Berlin's beguiling musical Call Me Madam, starring Jo Anne Worley and also starring Giorgio Tozzi, as the second production for the 1987 season. Performances begin at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Thursday, May 7 through Sunday, May 17.

A frothy spoof, poking fun at the International Diplomacy Game, Call Me Madam is a witty and charming tale set in the mythical country of Lichtenburg and the United States, with Ms. Worley as the outspoken Ambassadress strutting her stuff as the highkicking, brassy-but-loveable "Hostess With The Mostess On The Ball," which is only one of the memorable songs from the timeless Berlin score which also includes "It's A Lovely Day Today," and "You're Just In Love!" among many others.

Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8 will be low-priced preview performances, with the official opening night to the press on Saturday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m.

Performance schedule at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium (located at 300 E. Green St.) will be: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 p.m.; with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets on sale at the box office and all Ticketron and Teletron outlets; or by calling (213) 410-1062 (price range: $35.00-$10.00).
